The Challenge:
Enhance public awareness and opinion of Nucor Steel Marion, Inc. as a top-notch employer/manufacturer in their local community.
The Solution:
Conducted a benchmark survey of residents regarding Marion area manufacturers, then launched a community perception campaign,
including newspaper, outdoor and radio advertising, and public relations touting Nucor Steel Marion's focus on safety, high-paying
jobs, putting employees first, and corporate citizenship. Efforts culminated with inviting the public to a "Town Hall Meeting,"
attended by 3,000 people, stressing the importance of preventing American manufacturing jobs from going overseas.
The Result:
Based on a post promotion survey, both public awareness and the overall positive opinion rating of Nucor Steel
Marion, Inc. increased dramatically.
